Frederick Leslie Kennett (1924-2012) was a British photographer and sculptor. He studied photography at the Guildford School of Art. Frederick Kenett undertook assignments for museums, publishers, governments and collections throughout the world. He has taken photographs of European Sculpture in Italy, Spain, Germany, Holland and France. From the mid sixties, he ceased work as a photographer of sculpture to become a sculptor himself. He aroused the interest of leading London Galleries and his work was exhibited with much attention. Suddenly he stopped exhibiting but did not stop sculpting. He was prolific in his output, despite the restrictions of a studio flat in Kensington. He exhibited at the Grosvenor Galleries, the Tate Gallery and the Victoria and Albert Museum among others.
In 1959 he was commissioned by the Metropolitan Museum to make photographic study of the Cloisters in New York.
A few of his remarkable studies of the Parthenon Marbles featured in LIFE magazine.

Sir Roy Colin Strong is an English art historian and former director of the National Portrait Gallery and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. PROVENANCE: The artist; Gifted to Roy Strong, 1987; Current owner. In 1971 the National Portrait Gallery gave space to a Welsh Arts Council Exhibition entitled 'Snap, Instant Image 1971', which was partly a manoeuvre by Roy Strong to cross portrait barriers that would have upset the Trustees if staged as a purely Gallery event. Bailey was the photographer, David Hockney the artist and Gerald Scarfe the cartoonist. Strong sat for Bailey attired as the photographer wanted. Bailey emerged as one of the photographers who visually defined Swinging London.Category
