Japanese Antique Iron-Plated Door " Wall Decoration " 1860s-1920s / Wabi Sabi

About the Item

This is a very old Japanese Iron-Plated Door. It is an item from the Meiji period (1860s-1920s). The iron plate is stretched over a cedar frame. It has rusted over the years and looks like an abstract painting. It is recommended to be displayed on the wall. It is suitable for white walls, mortar walls, or any space. This work evokes the spirit of “wabi-sabi,” a Japanese philosophy that finds beauty in imperfection and impermanence. It is the opposite of vulgarity, a beauty of modesty and modesty, a beauty of being unconventional. This is a unique and very precious item. It weighs 9.5 kg. Since ancient times, people have created and inherited necessary tools from familiar materials to survive in the severe struggle against nature, and have nurtured a lifestyle culture. Over a long period of use, they accumulate a flavor and reflect a way of life. The harsher the natural environment and the weaker human beings are, the stronger their power becomes. In today's world, where cheap and disposable products are encouraged, the act of repeatedly modifying and re-creating the things around us opens up a new world. With this philosophy in mind, we carefully select and collect beautiful, powerful, and unique Japanese antiques.
