Japanese Kimono Art by Kimono-Couture
Title:Fumi-bako
This is a one-of-a-kind Kimono Art made of vintage kimono obi, carefully and wholeheartedly crafted by Japanese artisans.
The black silk base fabric is dyed with a red "Fumibako" (letter box). The " Fumibako " is embroidered with gold threads, giving the piece a luxurious feel.
The "Fumibako" began to be used during the Heian period (784~1185). During the Edo period (1600~1868), it was used as a symbol of ""elegance" and "glamour" and was one of the wedding utensils for women.
