Unusual bisque porcelain automaton figure
Continental, circa 1900
Measures: Height 57cm, width 21cm, depth 21cm
This unusual doll takes the form of a young boy dressed in period costume. The boy’s head is crafted from bisque porcelain, painted with naturalistic features, while is body is adorned in fine fabrics and laces. The podium upon which the boy stands contains the movement for the musical automaton. The piece includes its winding key.
