About the Item
A very cool four faced bronze Buddha head sculpture or paperweight, circa 1960s. The piece is in very good vintage condition and measures: 3"D x 3.25"H. The sculpture is signed on the underside. #3441
The four faces of the Buddha represent Joy, Serenity, Sorrow & Anger—all of the aspects of life that we have experienced at some stage. It is a reminder that life and of course our feelings are not permanent and in order to appreciate these qualities that we wish to attain, i.e. joy and serenity, you must experience the feelings of sadness and anger. This statue is a symbol of what we desire versus what we wish to escape from.
