A suumer time treat as this rendered smaller scale Japanese six-panel folding screen byobu was conceived in this convenient size 18 inches high and 48 inches length.
This green summer time country side scene features a center plum tree with awoken birds and a winding stream and red flowers in the fore ground. All framed by bamboo and clouds painted in green tones. All pigments on paper. The entirety is framed in black and blue colors.
Smaller size makes this lovely one eminently installable.
Comes as found with original black lacquer frame with original backing paper .
These smaller scale screens are ideal for small wall areas and in tea rooms or alcoves tokonoma (toko-no-ma), which are built-in recessed space in a Japanese style reception room, in which items for artistic appreciation.
