Japanese bronze and mixed metal vases, Inoue of Kyoto, Meiji Period.
About the Item
A fine pair of Japanese bronze and mixed metal vases, by Inoue of Kyoto, Meiji Period. The baluster shaped vases, decorated in gold, silver and shakudo inlay, with cranes beneath flowering cherry blossom trees, with insects flying above. The details of the trees and rocks, finely hand chiselled.
The rims of the vases inlaid in gilt with a continuous band of key fret.
Incised signature Inoue of Kyoto to the bases of both vases.
Height – 15.2 cm, 6”.
Diameter – 8 cm, 3 1/8”.
Condition – Excellent. No damage. No repair.
