Vintage Urushi Red & Gilt Lacquer Tray & Six Cups with Box - Japan - Mid 20th C.

About the Item

Vintage Urushi red lacquer tray with six stemmed cups - each cup gilt decorated with a different floral, leaf or bamboo specimen - the tray gilt decorated with bamboo to the center, the underside black lacquer - makers label to the outside of the box (unknown/unidentified) - Japan - early/mid 20th century. Excellent/near mint vintage condition - appears unused - minor rubbing and scratches to the gilding from contact with the original presentation box - no chips - no cracks - no loss - no damage - no restoration - scuffs and wear with signs of age to the presentation box. Box/Presentation Case Size/Dimensions - 15 1/2" (39.4 cm.) Wide x 4 1/8" (10.4 cm.) Deep x 2 3/4" (7 cm.) High. Tray Size - 14 1/4" (36.2 cm.) Wide x 3" (7.6 cm.) Deep x 1" (2.5 cm.) High. Size of Each Cup - 1 3/4" (4.5 cm.) Diameter x 2 5/8" (6.7 cm.) High.
