Helen Rose Strapless Satin Blue Brown Ball Gown w Rear Bow Bouquet - XS-S, 1962

About the Item

Created by the same designer who made Grace Kelly's wedding gown, this ball gown is instantly recognizable as a vintage masterpiece in the style of Charles James. The ballooning rear bow and floral bouquet make it beautiful from all angles, and the unusual baby blue and brown color combination is a refreshing departure from typical ball gown fare. Strapless ball gown with cummerbund-folded surplice bodice, sculpted waist and dramatically flared skirt with four full-length front princess seams that come to a point at sternum. Massive 1 ½’ rear bow with detachable 4’ train and floral silk bouquet that cascades from center back. Two flexible stays inside bodice, plus interior grosgrain waistband with hook and eye closure; rear metal zipper closure with top hook and eye, plus hidden snaps for hanging train, if desired.
