Evening Dress Haute Couture Maggy Rouff in black satin and velvet from 1935. Jacket with round neck, collar and lapels of black velvet sleeves, puff sleeves and twelves buttons on the front. The bodice tightens with velvet ties in the back. Long wide bias umbrella on reverse of velvet skirt. White on black label indicating Maggy Rouff numbered 60613 136 av des Champs Elysees Paris. Zipper side labelled MR for Maggy Rouff. Excellent condition and preservation. The pattern and the architecture of this dress are remarkable and are typical of the period. Perfect condition.
This set has been exhibited in Musée de Marseille and Musée du Luxembourg Paris 2020 with "Man Ray et la Mode". Wearable today.
Dimensions: Equivalent French size 38/40. height skirt 104 cm, bottom skirt 630 cm, shoulder 37 cm, sleeve 44 cm, height 55 cm, height 25 cm bust back.
