Linda Stein
Linda Stein, Blonde Knight 656 - Contemporary Ceramic Sculpture Light Colors

2007

About the Item

Blonde Knight 656 is from Linda Stein’s Knights of Protection series, which she started after being forced to evacuate her New York downtown studio for a year post-9/11. Stein's Knights are shield-like forms, and they function simultaneously as defenders in battle, symbols of protection and emblems of pacificism. This sculpture is made of ceramic. Stein's works are in more than 25 museum permanent collections, including Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, Georgia Museum of Art, and Ringling Museum of Art in the US; Victoria Gallery & Museum and Manchester Art Gallery in the UK; Espoo Museum of Modern Art in Finland; and Konstmuseet i Skövde in Sweden.
