About the Item
This entire series was inspired by a piece of graffiti by the street artist Banksy in the UK. Nick Stern - who ironically has been called the Banksy of Los Angeles and goes by the street name "Plastic Jesus" -decided to set himself the challenge to recreate the original Banksy graffiti with as much accuracy as possible, including the texture of the walls where the stencils were on and the windows on the buildings here in Los Angeles. Most were recreated “in situation”, without any photo shop. Only two works “The Maid” and “The Lovers” required minimal photoshop. Nick is English as is Banksy but based in Los Angeles so finding brick walls or a sash window was fun to find for the shoots.
All photographs are printed to order and signed, with a certificate of authenticity signed by Wallspace. They are printed on 20”x16”paper with a border included - be aware that images may not all be exactly the same size as the imagery has different layouts. The paper size will be framed to the same size. The paper is a heavy weight fine art paper Entrada.

____ Plastic Jesus grew up in the London Suburbs. (UK). After a brief career in engineering he pursued his life long passion to become a photojournalist. During a highly productive and eventful career that took to him to around 50 countries, covering world news events including war, civil unrest, crime, natural disasters and entertainment he became increasing frustrated by the selective focus of mainstream media. He turned his visual skills to street art as a way tackling issues he felt passionate about using his experience as an image maker and story teller to create bold, emotive art. With a mix of stenciled acrylic spray images and surreal oversized & often controversial installations that both amaze and amuse, his work combines humor, irony, criticism and unique opinion to create art that engages on many levels. Often questioning the norms in society Plastic Jesus confronts our compliance of culture and current affairs. The artist uses scale and contradiction as a means to highlight issues and opinions that often go unquestioned. The aesthetic appeal of his work combined with the engagement produces an addictive mix that challenges our acceptance. Worldwide appreciation for his work has grown organically but at a incredible pace, he is now one of the most talked about street artists having gained international media attention for a number of high profile pieces including his March 2015 Cocaine snorting oscar statue, his “No Kardashian Parking” signs placed around Hollywood in April 2015 and 2013 Best Buys useless plastic box 1.2.
His work has gained the attention of street art lovers and mainstream media including the BBC, CNN NY POST, NY Daily News, LA Times, Huffington post, Time, People Magazine , TMZ, and many more.

- "Steaks, " 1970s NY Time Square photograph (New York street photography)By Fernando NataliciLocated in NEW YORK, NYIn 1978, photographer Fernando Natalici, the creative mind behind the graphic design for iconic venues like CBGB and the Mudd Club, spent twenty-four hours shooting the raw scenery of Times Square and 42nd Street. "Natalici's shots candidly recall a Times Square of flashing marquee lights, electric sexual energy and wild lawlessness. His photographs resuscitate a New York of yesteryear in all of its chiaroscuro, with it all of the dark tenets of urban life that are today masked beneath a glossy veil of uniformity."
