Befreit von den künstlerischen Zwängen der Fashion-Fotografie strebt Roger Reist danach, in Momentaufnahmen die Norm zu brechen und dabei das Bewusstsein zu entwickeln, dass alles einem kreativen Prozess unterliegt. In diesem systemfreien Raum, der sich jenseits von Definitionen befindet, entsteht etwas Unfassbares, das nicht in Worte gefasst werden kann. Die Bewegtheit der Dinge offenbart für Reist das "Sein" in seiner ursprünglichsten Kraft. Für ihn liegt die Essenz im Augenblick der Verdichtung vom "Werden" ins "Sein". Die Fokussierung auf den allgegenwärtigen Wandel steht im Mittelpunkt seiner künstlerischen Expression, da Stillstand vergänglich ist, Bewegung jedoch unendlich.
Reists Perspektiven kennen kein Ideal, sondern zeugen von einer natürlichen Selbstverständlichkeit. In diesem universalen Zustand, in dem Nichts erklärt werden muss, sondern alles sein darf, manifestiert sich sein Innerstes.
