Ted Williams
Ted Williams first heard jazz on the radio as a youngster in the 1930s in Wichita, Kansas. The sounds of Earl Hines, Duke Ellington and Cab Calloway broadcast from Chicago's legendary Grand Terrace Ballroom inspired him. In the late 1940s, Williams merged his love of music and photography and moved to Chicago where he captured unguarded photographic studies of some of the era's greatest jazz musicians.
Williams’s work appeared in major international publications, including Time, Newsweek, Look, Playboy and Ebony. His coverage of the 1958 Newport Jazz Festival landed him a spectacular 21-page layout in DownBeat magazine. Williams was active on the jazz scene from the late 1940s until the late 1970s. He photographed many of the greats in jazz, including Ella Fitzgerald, Duke Ellington, Dizzy Gillespie and Louis Armstrong.
Williams’s historic archive runs to more than 100,000 images and comprises perhaps the most intimate and complete collection of jazz’s greatest musicians at work, rest and play.

- Frank Sinatra on the Boardwalk, View 1 (30”x 40” Lifetime Platinum Print)By Terry O'NeillLocated in Greenwich, CTFrancis Albert Sinatra was an American singer, actor, and producer who was one of the most popular and influential musical artists of the 20th century. He is one of the best-selling music artists of all time, having sold more than 150 million records worldwide. Sinatra forged a highly successful career as a film actor. After winning an Academy Award for From Here to Eternity (1953). He appeared in various musicals, starring alongside some of the biggest names in Hollywood like Gene Kelly in On the Town (1949) and Grace Kelly in High Society (1956). “This was the first time I ever saw Frank and I was astonished by the mere power of his presence, mesmerizing the crowd as he walked casually past.” – Terry O’Neill This picture was taken on the first day of filming in 1968, as singer and actor Frank Sinatra walked along the boardwalk from his hotel at the Fontainebleau in Miami Beach, with his body double and entourage to the set of ‘The Lady in Cement’. Sinatra was filming Lady in Cement in which he starred alongside Raquel Welch, as private investigator Tony Rome. Terry O'Neill recalls "I just didn't know how to go about photographing Sinatra at the hotel or what was the best way to approach him. He suddenly appeared around the corner of the boardwalk with his bodyguards and I just captured the moment." Terry O’Neill is one of the world’s most collected photographers with work hanging in national art galleries and private collections worldwide. From presidents to pop stars he has photographed the frontline of fame for over six decades. O’Neill began his career at the birth of the 1960s. While other photographers concentrated on earthquakes, wars and politics, O’Neill realized that youth culture was a breaking news story on a global scale and began chronicling the emerging faces of film, fashion and music who would go on to define the Swinging Sixties. By 1965 he was being commissioned by the biggest magazines and newspapers in the world. No other living photographer has embraced the span of fame, capturing the icons of our age from Winston Churchill to Nelson Mandela, from Frank Sinatra and Elvis to Amy Winehouse, from Audrey Hepburn and Brigitte Bardot to Nicole Kidman, as well as every James Bond from Sean Connery to Daniel Craig and many other of your favorite celerities, models and famous political figures, royalty and fashion iconic names in fashion. He photographed The Beatles and The Rolling Stones when they were still struggling young bands in 1963, pioneered backstage reportage photography with David Bowie, Elton John, The Who, Eric Clapton, Chuck Berry and many more. His images have adorned historic rock albums, movie posters and international magazine covers. All Fine Art...Category
