About the Item
Stunning autumnal landscape titled "Fall at Barrington, Illinois", a suburb of Chicago, by Kathleen Buehr Granger (American, 1902-1999), 1938. Signed lower left "K. Buehr Granger" and on verso "Barrington 1938." Displayed in a rustic giltwood frame.
Daughter of American painter and professor of art at the Chicago Art institute, Karl Albert Buehr. She exhibited in the Annual Exhibition of Chicago and Vicinity Artists, AIC, from 1924-'42. Her brother George was also a painter. He once said that Kathleen and Monet's granddaughter Lili Butler were playmates.
