Inspired by traditional Eastern paintings and minimalist photography, artist Guigen Zha paints a modern natural landscape. A red parrot perches on blooming flower branches within an architectural setting. He marries two different styles of schemas with visual conflicts yet achieves perceptual harmony. Guigen correlates the clashing contents of the images effortlessly.

This painting is of a double redwood tree in a small town on the California Delta. I love this Victorian street at night and its combination of giant ancient trees and whimsical decorative lights.About the Artist
Hadley’s subject matter is inspired by her San Francisco surroundings, particularly the city at night. Her glowing depictions of light sources are reminiscent of a blurred photograph or a bleary-eyed nighttime stroll. Hadley developed her love for art from her mother, a watercolorist, and continued to pursue her artistic career at a collegiate level and beyond. She now works out of a small studio in San Francisco’s Mission District.
