About the Item
This piece titled "Tigress in Transition" is a one-of-a-kind original piece by James Oliver and is made from acrylic paint on canvas. This piece measures 24"h x 30"w, and is hand signed by the artist on the back.
James Oliver is a painter whose precise visual language pushes the tradition of twentieth century abstraction into a contemporary context. Oliver is a conceptually driven formalist whose work is inspired by his dreams and emotional states, which he abstracts into an undetermined and subjective viewing experience by emphasizing line, color, and form. Even as Oliver turns to a figurative practice in recent series, rendering cultural icons like chopper bikes, Pontiac Firebirds, and his childhood poodle in detailed line drawings, these representations similarly evoke broadly accessible affects abstracted from his mental landscape.
Born in Upstate New York, raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico, son of an advertising executive, Oliver was exposed from a young age to visual art from its most commercial applications to more visceral exponential lives.

- Leap, Watercolour on Paper, Yellow , Brown White Color "In Stock"By Prashant SalviLocated in Kolkata, West BengalPrashant Salvi Leap, Watercolour, Acrylic, Charcoal on Paper 22 x 30 inches, 2016 (shipped in a roll form) "I have built my career on surrealist,anatomical/botanical fantasies; beautifully rendered yet sometimes haunting and gruesome, void of irony and done with absolute sincerity. My work builds meaning primarily by exploring the unbridgeable difference between animals and people. A proactive imagery of humans and animals suggests an investigation of linguistics, the natural sciences and human sociology all in respect to the parallel universe of other species alongside us. I use a seemingly detached abstraction as a counter-point, tomy- stylised fabrications of sexual desire"- Prashant Salvi An undercurrent of eroticism, viewed with a steady detachment often can be part of Salvi's works, morphing human and animal forms and throwing psychological riddles challenging the viewer to decide where life begins or ends. Salvi's watercolours with its technical virtuosity turn images from nature to a surrealistic dance of survival. The works are challenging, complex and magically real and acknowledge life’s gentleness and aggressiveness in unison. While nature’s logic could be used to argue the very existence of an omnipotent creator, Salvi, paradoxically suggests ambiguity to life's bigger and deeper questions; answers of which he feels don't come in neat packages. - Israeli Modernist Textured Painting on Cast Paper SheepBy Menashe KadishmanLocated in Surfside, FLA highly textured unique artwork by israeli master Menashe Kadishman Menashe Kadishman was born in Tel-Aviv in 1932. He is a Graduate of St. Martin's School of Art, University of London. From 1947 to 1950, Kadishman studied with the Israeli sculptor Moshe Sternschuss at the Avni Institute of Art and Design in Tel Aviv, and in 1954 with the Israeli sculptor Rudi Lehmann in Jerusalem. In 1959, he moved to London, where he remained until 1972. He had his first one-man show there in 1965 at the Grosvenor Gallery. His sculptures of the 1960s were Minimalist in style and so designed as to appear to defy gravity. This was achieved either through careful balance and construction, as in Suspense (1966), or by using glass and metal so that the metal appeared unsupported, as in Segments (1968). In 1995, he began painting portraits of sheep. These instantly-recognizable sheep portraits...Category
