Lori Poncsak
'Praying Boy' by Lori Poncsak - Blue and Gold - Textured Abstract Expressionism

2023

About the Item

'Praying Boy' by Lori Poncsak is a compelling 24" x 30" acrylic on canvas that delves into the raw essence of abstract expressionism. The piece is dominated by a cool palette of deep blues and aquamarines, contrasted with chaotic sweeps of black and subtle touches of gold and white. These elements coalesce into a turbulent yet harmonious composition that captures the tumultuousness of prayer under duress or in a moment of deep contemplation. The artwork’s textured surface enhances the visual depth and dynamic motion, suggesting a sense of movement that swirls around the central, lighter blue hues that might symbolize the spiritual purity or focal point of the prayer. 'Praying Boy' evokes a profound emotional response, highlighting themes of hope, desperation, and the search for calm within the storm. This piece can be hung either horizontally or vertically, allowing for flexibility in its display and interpretation, making it a versatile addition to any collection that invites viewers to find their own meaning in its depths. About the Artist: Lori Poncsak is a contemporary artist with over two decades of self-taught painting experience, celebrated for her expressive exploration of form and color.
