About the Item
This abstract is painted on a paper like product called terra skin which is made of ground stone making it very durable. The piece will come rolled in a tube but due to the nature of the terra skin will lay flat after unrolling almost immediately. The colors do not show quite true in the photo as there are a lot more greens and a metallic silver which does not photograph very well. The piece have many layers of different colors which poke through in places and give it a lot of depth. The surface is also very textural. There is also a 1 inch white border around the entire piece. Linda Yurgensen
Linda Yurgensen (Canadian, b. 1958) is a self-taught artist living on Vancouver Island who paints primarily in acrylics and oil. Having grown up in Nova Scotia in an artistic family, she learned very early on that she had a love for art. Yurgensen creates works that are full of saturated color and light and heavy with texture that has become her trademark. Her work has been included in many private collections throughout the United States and Canada and her work and painting process was included in a book published by Walter Foster entitled "The Art of Painting in Acrylic" in 2013. Yurgensen is an active member of the Federation of Canadian Artists.
